About me

So here's a little bit more about me. I started my journey at the young age of 17, eager to get a moped (I had my eye on a beautiful purple Piagio Zip scooter in the window of the Daybrook Yamaha Motorbike store where I lived. I was obsessed with it! And so, as soon as I was allowed, I took my CBT bike test with the local training company. Things didn't go to plan and after having the fear of God put in me, riding a battered Vision 50cc, that barely made 27mph (downhill with the wind behind me), skidding in the rain and falling off in the playground and then stalling and being left at the lights by the other learners and instructor on their big powerful motorbikes, I decided maybe bikes were not for me at this stage and I would learn to drive a car instead.
So here my story begins, I joined my sister's driving instructor and started lessons in Nottingham and prepared to take my driving test.
But alas, it was not meant to be, as a family we moved to Norwich and I could not find a test date in time to take my driving test before we moved.
So, now based in a tiny village about an hour from the city centre of Norwich, I started to look for a test, naively thinking I was ready to take the test, in a completely new city.
I got my first car for my 18th birthday, a shiny red Vauxhall Nova E reg saloon, and straight away I booked my first test.
Long story short, I failed my first 2 tests due to not understanding the Norwich test area, one way systems and also had a car that really needed its handbrake tightening and the rear wiper fixed. I decided my car was probably not the best car to use for test.
Alas, I was not going to be defeated, I found a local instructor with a Red Nissan Micra, and booked a few hours lessons to get used to the car.
Then off we went to the test centre, and I passed with no issues.
Since then I have achieved my full motorbike licence, and my PCV licence and spent 8 months driving the rainbow coloured double decker buses round Nottingham city centre, before being promoted within the company.
I love driving. I love the freedom it brings and the opportunities it provides. I love to teach and enjoy every single lesson, even the more challenging ones. I get a great sense of satisfaction being involved with my students progress, and am just as excited when they pass (what an honour it is when I am there to hear the news first hand), and I feel their pain when they aren't quite so lucky. I am a resilient person with a strong mindset and dust my students off and prepare them to go again.
Its teamwork from start to finish and I LOVE it
